The ingredients needed to make Tabbouleh:
- Take 150 g bulgur
- Get 1 bunch herbs (persil, coriander, or both)
- Get 1 small red onion
- Prepare 2 spring onions
- Prepare 1 ripe avocado
- Prepare 10-15 cherry tomatoes
- Take 2 tbsp olive oil
- Get 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Get garlic powder
- Get salt, pepper
Add in all the other ingredients and mix to combine. This salad is light and flavorful and chock full of veggies that you can pull from your garden–tomatoes, cucumbers, and green onions. Add lots of parsley and mint and a nice splash of olive oil and lemon juice and that's it. Chill before serving to bring out the flavors.
Instructions to make Tabbouleh:
- Cook the bulgur according to package instructions. Set aside, and let it cool.
- Chop the herbs, onion and spring onions. Combine with diced avocado and quartered cherry tomatoes. Add the bulgur and mix.
- Add the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix well, and set aside for about 20 minutes before serving.
Tabbouleh is such a distinct and iconic salad that it has become so well known all over the world. I always find this salad in the prepared food section at the supermarket, as well at any Mediterranean food stand, cart or restaurant, even more so than Fattoush! With a parsley base, this delicious salad combines fresh mint, scallions, tomatoes and bulgur. Rinse the bulgur wheat in a sieve until the water runs clear. Drain well, then transfer to a bowl.
