To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook coconut rice using 6 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.
The ingredients needed to make Coconut Rice:
- Get 1 cup Jasmine rice
- Get 1/8 tsp salt
- Prepare 1 Tbsp raw sugar (one with molasses )
- Make ready 1 tblsp butter
- Prepare 1 can unsweetened coconut milk
- Prepare Water as needed
Steps to make Coconut Rice:
- Shake the can of coconut milk, and pour it into a measuring cup. Fill the rest of the cup with water until it reaches 2 cups of liquid. * the coconut milk has thick stuff in it, I'm not sure what it is. It tastes good, I use it. π
- Pour the liquid into the pan. Add butter, salt and sugar. Bring it to a boil. Note: you could sub raw sugar for light brown sugar or plain sugar with a drip of molasses.
- When it boils, add the 1 cup of rice and stir it while it boils for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, cover, and turn heat to low, and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
- See that lid…. DON'T TOUCH IT!!!!! π Not for 15 minutes anyway π
- When the time is up, fluff rice with a fork or stir it, whatever π. That's all folks!
